Can you really make $100k with only 10 clients?

Hey, it’s Lee.

Let’s put some real numbers to everything we’ve been talking about the last few days.

A lot of web designers are worried about AI, cheap website builders, and how easy it’s becoming to get a decent website for a few hundred dollars. I get it. I see what’s happening, too.

I’ve run our marketing agency for over 20 years, and I spend a lot of time talking with local business owners through our Chamber of Commerce, networking groups, and meetups.

They’re not worried about how their websites get built or how AI is changing our jobs. They care about getting more customers.

They’d pay us to send smoke signals if it brought in new business.

They don’t care how AI is changing our jobs. They don’t care about Google, Facebook, or websites. They only care about getting more customers?

They’d pay us to send smoke signals if that brought in new business.

Stop defending the value of website production and start talking about driving results.

After you launch someone’s website:

  • Who drives the traffic?
  • Who turns that traffic into leads?
  • Who follows up with those leads?
  • Who measures what’s working?
  • Who decides what needs to happen next month?

If the answer is usually “the client” or “somebody else,” you’re in a sinking boat.

If your offer is, “If you need a website, I’ll build one,” that means your prices, your pipeline, and ultimately your career are all decreasing in value.

Our skills are still important. It’s just the business model that’s changed.

I’m all in on the future of online marketing. I believe in it so much that I’m bringing two of my own kids into my agency to build their careers here too.

But we’re not betting on the old web design model. We’re building on this new structure where you have a manageable portfolio of high-value, recurring revenue clients.

Here’s what that looks like in our agency.

We currently have three entry points that work out to roughly:

  • $5,000/year
  • $10,000/year
  • $20,000/year

The middle package is the most popular, so our average client is worth a little more than $10,000 per year.

We’ve already talked about how our Small Favor Marketing lead generation system is generating up to 20% response rates. From those leads we’re averaging about a 25% - 35% conversion rate from leads to paying clients. My goal for the people I’m mentoring in DoubleStack is for them to land at least two clients per month (about one every two weeks).

Some DoubleStackers are doing way more than this. You may have seen my interview with Dave who landed 7 clients in 9 days.

You can land WAY more than two clients per month. But to keep the numbers conservative, with just two clients per month, every month you’re adding over $20,000 in new annual recurring revenue.

Carry that forward for six months:

2 clients/month × 6 months = 12 clients

12 clients × $10,000/year = $120,000 in annual recurring revenue

That’s not a guarantee. Your results ultimately depend on you. But the math shows why this business model is so different from chasing one-time website projects.

If you want to add over $100k to your business, you don’t need 100 clients, you just need 10.

Here are three important reasons why this works::

  1. New technology helps you instead of threatens you.
  2. You charge more because you’re solving bigger problems.
  3. Your income is consistent because recurring revenue replaces the gaps between projects.

If this is making sense, there’s really only one question left:

Is DoubleStack the right way for you to get there?

Tomorrow you’ll see exactly what DoubleStack gives you, who it’s designed for, and how personal mentoring is different from buying traditional coaching or a course.

I’ll see you tomorrow.

P.S. The BIG takeaway: replace dead time with recurring revenue. Hit reply if that makes sense?
